Creations by Jayne

When I was at the airport a while back I remember all the cases looking the same so thought I could make a nice big simple label to set my case away from all the other cases ! You really could go to town on this and also make it a little more robust.

I have made a double layer for security reasons & a huge bright pink ribbon to tie it onto the case.

Just cut 2 tags , I used this template & Shapecutter plus to do this.

On the Template above there is some holes so I cut one in each tag & one for the centre of the flower.

A Flower was punched out using the XL flower squeeze punch, ribbon is threaded through -Use a long piece as that will help catch your eye too.

 Jayne’s Layout:

I have created a L/O for todays challenge. We had to make something inspired from the sketch provided. I initially thought about a card but then I remembered my photos that I have been meaning to scrapbook for at least a year ! This is a great way to use up photos, I usually scrap one photo on a L/O but hardly ever 4 !

TIARA - by Jayne Loughlin

I was struggling to think what I could make for this challenge and then I thought a Tiara of course ! I have a Tiara site called Headlough Tiaras and am also in the process of creating pieces for a wedding fair on the weekend ! I can make crowns too but they are too complicated so thought I would make a Tiara based on the last one I showed you previously with a different end result. Fiskars have great wire cutters and pliers so this was an ideal project.

Items you’ll need : Tiara band,  Wire,  Approx 40 glass beads,  Fiskars Cutters ,Fiskars flat nose pliers,

instructions: 1. Cut off approx 80cms of wire from the reel (this makes it easier to work with in smaller pieces) wrap the end around the Tiara base a couple of times, flatten with the flat nose pliers so the end isn’t sharp.

2.Thread a bead onto the wire dont let it fall right down hold it in place above the tiara base and bend the wire down to the base to create a sort of loop bend, the wire should run down the side of the bead and you hold both ends firmly at the base with one hand.

3. Take hold of the bead and wire with your other hand and twist until the whole of the wire stem is twisted making sure you hold the wire at the base. Stop when all the stem is twisted be careful not to over twist the wire as it could snap wire or glass bead. When the stem is twisted wrap around the base a couple of times up the Tiara base and repeat this pattern again and again but make sure the lengths of the twisted beded stems are all different heights.

4. When you get to the middle try and mirror the lengths of wire in the second half a little as this will make a better shaped Tiara. If you run out of wire just Repeat step 1. Don’t forget all lengths don’t have to be perfect they can be tweeked at the end.

5. To hide a messy base or just to add more glass beads start at one end wrap a length of wire a couple of times around the base again like before then flatten with flat nose pliers. Thread a bead onto the wire and place on the base on the front, wrap round the wire to the back and back to the front and thread another bead next to the first one, wrap wire to the back and bring forwards again…repeat this until the end. Wrap wires around the base at the end to finish off  and cut with the cutters. The Fiskars cutters are brilliant as they cut close to the band.

6. A great tip is to run your fingers over the tiara wires and if any are sticking out or are rough, tuck in or flatten with the flat nose pliers. Bend the stems if needed a little to make a nice uniform shape and that is it !

LOST !

by Jayne

Some of you might know I Geocache ! For the ones who haven’t heard of this it is treasure hunting with a GPS (kind of sat navs) You can check out www.geocaching.com  for more info on Geocaching…..It is a great way to get a lot of photo opportunities and that’s why it’s so popular with Scrapbookers. I like it as it’s good exercise & the whole family can do this together.

I have used my Fiskars Shape cutter freehand to cut the border for this Layout, no more struggling with scissors to create scallops ! The Title was cut with the Shape cutter too and these letter Templates and I also used my favourite Butterfly Template it is beautiful.

Hope you like and it will be great to see your L/Os if you try Geocaching !

I was shopping in a supermarket yesterday and I saw some HUGE chocolate medals saying No 1 Dad on. When I got home I thought these would be great reduced in size made out of card and put onto a card as a topper.  Mine are a little simple as I haven’t had time to craft yesterday as it was my birthday. But it does give you the base for making them prettier !

You will need : Mirror card , Small piece of Ribbon , Patterned paper (PP) Alpha stickers , Round Squeeze punch , Tag Squeeze punch , Tape , small piece of wire or a D ring.

Instructions : Cut a circle out of mirror card and a tag out of stripey PP with the squeeze punches . Fold the wire in a figure of eight shape -the the bottom loop should have a flat edge (see photo) Top loop will be covered so it can be untidy.

Thread the ribbon through the loop of wire that has a flat edge and glue onto the back of the Tag punch out. Stick the bottom loop of the wire onto the mirror card punched circle.

Then decorate with Alpha stickers or what ever you choose.

Good morning Fiskarettes . Today I am showing you a card I have made for Fathers day for my Dad. He has quite a thing for old cars and the last one he’s bought is based on an old Ferrari racing car. It is red and is a little like Noddys car or so I thnk so…this annoys my Dad a little, especially when I say I don’t like the car but it is cute. I’m going to slot in a photo of his head at a later date perhaps with a Noddy hat on.

Russian dolls

by Jayne

Some of you might know I am mad on Russian Dolls and anything related. I have just painted a blank set myself and though it was a little fiddly and time consuming I am quite pleased with the results. Of course it isn’t to the standard of real Russian dolls but for my first attempt (and last lol!) I don’t think they are that bad.  All that is needed now is a coat or two of varnish.

You don’t have to use the punched out pieces all the time when you punch, why not use the holes instead for a different look. Here I used a scalloped piece of cardstock & the Fiskars Star Squeeze punch. I checked there were enough scallops to punch every other scallop and punched all the way round. I’ve doodled in white pen & added sticker alphas & Patterned paper & a button to finish off.
