Challenge - use fabric!
by Jayne & CarolineFollowing on from Fridays video about the Fiskars Sewing Multi Tool we thought it would make a good challenge to use fabric in your project.
Use fabric in any of your papercrafts in a jewellery item or a completely fabric creation - the choice if yours and we would love to see!
Here is what Jayne and I made for this challenge……..
Caroline:-
I made full use of the Fiskars Sewing Multi Tool in this little home decor item I made.
Using felt I cut out two bird shapes and stamped a couple of swirls onto it using a StazOn Ink. I then embellished this side using seed beads, flower sequins and fabric blooms, buttons, lace and string. I sewed it together using a basic stitch and stuffed with wadding. I threaded string through the stitching to create the hanger.
I really enjoyed doing this and as I haven’t done any sewing for a while I had forgotten just how nice it is to sit and sew - quite relaxing really!
Jayne:-Well i am sorry everyone this post is late today, It was totally my fault . Some of you might know already that I have become a Granny !!! My daughter gave birth Sat to a lovely baby girl called Alexis Rose 6lb 9oz and i have been so busy with visiting. I was supposed to go on a card workshop on Saturday and make my piece for the post today but didnt make it !! So this is an example of what I should of made , It was a card class taught by Mandy Kay and the card was made by one Fiskarette..(Beadmad) Lynne. The flower , pot, background is all material! It’s not everyday you become a Granny, I think it will take a while to come down to earth again.
Caroline I love your bird, I am going to have a go at making one.
I forgot to say the card workshop was fantastic and we had loads of fun. I made 15 cards, using 3 different styles, inky messy, clean and simple and fabric. I don’t usually finish anything at a crop!
Oh Caroline….your little bird is outstanding!!!!! X
Beadmaid….I love your card, ric-rac is ideal for the stem X
Caroline I love the bird too…The stamping on felt came out really well not what i would expect its so dainty I’ll have to squeeze your arm to make me a bird
:D
