black button necklace

I’ve had this big button for a long time, and in fact have several colours.  I bought them cos I liked them but was never sure exactly what to do with them because they are so big, about 2.5″ diameter.

I love simple necklaces and thought the big button could make a great necklace.  I wanted black so with that in mind I found some fab fasteners – toggles – from my local Dunelm shop.  Armed with a piece of suede string it was really so easy to make, as you can see.  Literally a five minute job, and in total it cost approx. £2.25!

I now know what to do with the other coloured big buttons I have!

I have some 1930′s buttons that would make great necklaces like that:)

Love it Just my kind of thing. You could add a couple of wide hole coloured beads threaded onto the string, white ones would be fab xx

It’s hard to see the black on black, is the suede threaded through the button holes? Doesn’t this make the pendant fall forward? I have a huge blue button that my SIL bought me at a craft fair and would like to have a go at this.
