For this weeks challenge I decided to use a stamp in a slightly different way, and I made this tissue holder to go inside my bag.
Soooooo easy to make, and such a handy addition to your bag – its easier to find this than a pack of tissues or a lone tissue!
Cut out a piece of felt using Pinking Shears. For a pack of standard tissues the felt will need to be approx. 19cm x 15cm. Pinking shears are great as even though felt won’t fray, the pinking shears add a decorative edge with minimum effort.
An Acrylic Ruler Square is handy too, as it helps with straight lines!
Fold in the edges to meet at the middle and sew each end with a basic stitch – hand sew or machine!
Stamp a flower from the Spring Stamp Set onto some plain felt. I had a quick look at a couple of my ink pads and the only one that made reference to fabric was StazOn, which said it wasn’t suitable for fabric. So I used Memento black ink, and only time will tell if it is colour fast on fabric. There are some ink pads on the market suitable for fabric though.
Cut out with some sharp fabric scissors.

Sew this onto your tissue holder – I secured with a small button and placed some fabric glue under the petals to keep them in place. I then added beads and buttons to add more of a feature…
This is now in my bag, nice and neat in a front pocket….
Look forward to seeing your projects ‘using a stamp’ !
