Altered Frame
by Beadmad
You will need:
A frame, you can pick them up cheaply from charity shops or IKEA sell a pack of 3 for a £1.
Patterned paper, I used some from the Heidi Grace Page Kit, Frost
Flowers 2 template
Acrylic paint or ink pad
Trimmings, lace, flowers etc.
Brads
Adhesive
Clear sakura glitter pen.
Choose some patterned paper to cover your frame, draw around the frame and cut it out. Lay your frame on the paper again and cut an X, using the craft knife, in the centre. (This will make it easier to cover the frame).
Cover the frame with the paper and cut away excess from the middle.
Using the acrylic paint (or inkpad, if you prefer) paint the edges of the frame. (I always do this after the paper so I can cover up any bits where the paper isn’t quite right.)

Now you can decorate your frame.
Cut a flower and 3 leaves from the flowers 2 template. Using the clear glitter pen draw around the outside of the flower and doodle veins on the leaves.
Punch 3 flowers using the XL flower squeeze punch. Using your eyelet setter punch a hole in the middle of each flower. Take some silk flowers and attach them to the punched flower with a brad.
Arrange the flowers in the corner of the frame.
Add further embellishments to your taste.

You now have a pretty photo frame, or if you stick a piece of wire mesh to the back of the frame, somewhere pretty to keep your earrings.
Have fun trying this project. If you make something do post in the gallery, we love seeing your creations.
