Boris and Doris

I really enjoy crafting. Here are two sock dolls that I made and would like to post to my gallery. Their names are Boris and Doris, they were great fun to make.

Crafty tip: You don’t need a sewing machine to be able to make a sock doll and they are easier than they look! Why not have a go?

Thanks for your lovely comment Clare. I have been collecting buttons for many years and my daughter and I had great fun trying to pick ‘the right ones’ The buttons can really change the expression on a sock doll – I even pick buttons up from the pavement!

They sure are fun dolls, and very contemporary in style – I could imagine them in the window of an expensive kids’ clothing boutique in London, couldn’t you? And I totally understand your collecting buttons – I could spend hours choosing them when I come across a good “mix and match” offer and wish I could find more of them…

Agnes, thank you so much for your lovely comment, that has just made my evening! What a thought! I’ve made lots of them. Also, there is a little charity shop where I live that sometimes sells jam jars full of buttons – it’s like finding treasure, I love the old mother of pearl ones the best.
