Christmas Gift Idea
by bertie_uk
I am usually a scrapbooker and don’t often dabble in card making, but I have been very busy making some gifts for Christmas, so I thought I’d share what I’ve been up to. I have been making sets of greetings cards and have bundled them up into sets of 4. I thought they’d make good gifts as I am sure you’ll agree, when you need a last minute birthday/tahnk you card, these could come in handy!

I got the stamps when I went to the NEC with friends. I have been addicted to using them! I have also learnt to use a brayer to make the background.

These cards are beautiful Faye, Loretta will be pleased. what a cute way to give as gifts so others can give handmade cards on special occaisions to their friends too xxx
Beautiful cards Faye, not had a go at brayering yet, think I need to though the effect is beautiful.

A beautiful gift Faye.
I’ve not done brayering either – what does it do exactly? I love the cards they are beautiful, especially the dandelion clock one. That’s just gorgeous.
These look lovely Faye – are they embossed or just stamped in a silver ink? I bought these stamps at the NEC and I’ve used them loads. Love yopur brayering too – I’m a bit heavy handed with mine, need to practice a bit more.
Those are lovely Faye, great idea for gifts, I especially like the flower heads
Beautiful cards Faye, I’ve got some of those stamps too but not had the chance to use them yet. Hoping to get creating with these very soon. They look fantastic in little bundles too, what a great idea as a pressie for friends.
Thank you for your comments! I didn’t emboss these images, but I have just bought some black sparkly powder and I’m hoping to try this. I used black ink and stickles.
With brayering, less id definately more! It took some practice. You need to ink the roller, then take off all the ink on a scrap piece of paper by rolling approx 4 times. Then you are ready to very lightly roll onto smooth card several times. You must roll in the same direction, not backwards and forwards. It gives a lovely effect!
Faye thanks for the tips on Brayering …The cards are lovely. It’s such a good idea to give a pack of handmade cards as a gift. I’m sure Loretta will be thrilled x
Lovely cards. I especially like the little mushroom houses!
Such beautiful cards, love your stamping
I LOVED my cards when you gave them to me. I love them so much that I can’t part with one of them. it’s on my board at home. Might have to put an order in for some more. Probably my favourite crafting present i have received so far. There is so much detail and it’s hand made. You counld’t buy a card like this in the shops. I might have to buy the stamps myself just so i can stare at them.
