Distressed stamping

This project was an experiment! I wanted to try a new technique that I had heard about. I first stamped the swirly images in white acrylic paint and allowed it to dry. I then used green and brown distress inks to blend over the top.

I then used gold mica powder in a mini mister to create a shimmer over the top. Next I added some distress stickles over the stamped images. I punched some butterflies and added a stamped title. It was very inky and messy but I was so pleased with the effect. I then went on to make an ATC to match.

I’ve been meaning to try distressing myself but not got around to it yet, so it was interesting to see how you made your card. Love the butterflies – they look really good!

That’s gorgeous! I bought some mini misters at the weekend but haven’t tried them yet, this technique looks encouraging!
