Inspired by Jaynes post about her first scrapbook page and her last one. I thought I would show mine.

I started scrapbooking in March 2007 when my friend took me to a workshop because I had commented about seeing scrapbooking magazines on the tv and wanted to find out more about it. I had always been crafty but it had sort of dwindled over the years for one reason or another… My friend didn’t have a clue what she was unleashing by taking me to that workshop :D

This first page about Legoland is the one I made at the workshop. I don’t like the journalling and keep meaning to redo it. I struggle with journalling and feel mine comes across as cheesy rather than heartfelt most of the time.

The last page is the last one I made in the summer of last year. (Blimey!) It’s of my youngest. Funnily enough although I have more stash and tools now, I feel like I have gone away from why I wanted to do scrapbooking in the first place which is why I haven’t made any pages of late. So with much encouragement from my OH who loved my earlier pages & keeps nudging me towards starting scrapping again, I am trying not to be sidetracked by pretty papers and make it all about the photos and memories again :)

Good to hear your story! I agree that I too can get side tracked by the pretty papers and embeelies and forget why I started scrapping! It is all about the photos and preserving the special memories (although I must admit I do have a stash addiction!)

Gorgeous LOs, the journalling is about you and how you feel. I’m sure other people will think know it’s you when they read it.

I like collecting paper and embellies too.

Beautiful Carmen, I find journalling quite hard too, it tends to be very factual or a funny story about where we went or what happened. I think its important you write what you feel and remember its for your family and its your memories.
