Monday Challenge ~ Glitter & Glitz ~ By Jayne Loughlin
by Jayne & Caroline
I have gone crazy with the Glitter today and used glittered paper & glittered ribbon to make yet another wreath. If you haven’t made a wreath yet have a go they are very simple. I even have glittery leggings on now but they weren’t glittery when I started !!!
All I have done is cut strips of glitter paper using Fiskars Pinking shears and wrapped them around a florists wreath metal ring.(see photo below) You should be able to get these rings from Florists or good garden centres. Glue one end of the paper, wrap round and stick in place. You will need strong glue (I used a ATG gun but strong DST (Double sided tape) would be good ) You could staple the pieces for speed !

keep building the strips up all the way round until the ring is covered, Finish of with ribbon bows.

I have made a version with material and knotted strips of fabric onto the ring, I haven’t got any photos as I left the wreath at work but will publish asap !

Jayne I love your glittery wreath.
I have one of those frames and have been stuck for ideas of what to do with it.
You have inspired me:)
I love the simplicity of this & it would make a great base for a more detailed design, with added mini Christmas decorations & bows
What a clever idea Jayne..x
Beautiful wreath but I dont know if I can bear to use my pinking shears on paper lol. Perhaps I need to make a fabric version.
I was just thinking the same about the shears but it looks so lovley I think I need to make one.
This is gorgeous Jayne, I love the idea of a fabric one.
I ACTUALLY HAVE TWO PAIRS OF PINKING SHEARS !
This is so pretty - like the idea of a fabric one Debby - you could always glitter it up afterwards.
Fabric sounds good, need to get up in the loft and see what fabric is lurking there.
I like the idea of a fabric one. Emma xx
