When I uploaded my fluttery card I spotted that the Monday Challenge was brads and ribbons, and I immediately pictured another card using the same style butterflies – I had to make it today as I couldn’t get it out of my head!

So, again I used my ShapeBoss to emboss some butterflies, this time I did four in a row with their top wings slightly touching. It was easy to do this because of the grids on the ShapeBoss template, I was able to keep the top of my piece of blue card along a grid line so the butterflies wouldn’t go wonky. After I had embossed them I cut around the outline of all four so they were in a line together.

And then cut out four butterflies using my ShapeBoss as a stencil as well as an embosser, so I had two pink and two purple, and I adhered the bodies of these to the blue butterflies so the wings flap. I added gems to the heads again too.

Finally I just had to layer things up onto my A5 white card. I used butterfly backing paper, some stamped swirls, pink and black polka dot ribbon, and a piece of card with a line of brads pushed through: all behind the embossed butterflies. And in the top right the sentiment is the word ‘hello!’ stamped onto green card, with little bits of ribbon stapled either side and pink card behind. I inked all the edges of the card / paper with either pink or black ink so they didn’t get to lost.

I seriously think I’m going to be using these butterflies on loads of projects, I love them! They’re a bit fiddly but worth the effort!

Thanks for looking. xx

What a lovely card. I have this backing paper but have never know what to do with it. Thank you for an idea.
