What a great challenge. I have literally just uploaded these to my blog. I was taking part in an Alice in Wonderland swap to celebrate the new film and a couple of things I made my partner were fabric based. The pin cushion is made from a small mustard pot with The Queen of Hearts inside – my swapees favourite character. She’s also got some bling and white roses in there with her.

The top was made by wrapping stuffing around one of those metal scrunchie things you do the dishes with. (I read they were good for keeping needles sharp)Wrapping some heart fabric around that and then loosely stitching the bottom so it was a cushion shape. I then glued this to the lid, glued the lid shut on to the jar and went around the outside with fabric and lace and some heart string.

The tissue holder I am very chuffed with. Sorry about the rubbish photo, it is deep black and red in reality. I am a very basic sewer at the best of times and have been trying to learn to use a machine but have broken it I think. So this was all hand stitched. That’s a little Disney Queen of Hearts charm on the bottom.

Thanks for looking :D

Very different and not sure my 4 year old would like to see a head in a jar but I like it, a useful craft project :)

What a fab idea, I love both projects but particularly the tissue holder, the fabric is gorgeous too.
