School Photo ~ By Debbie Roberts
by rainbow_poppy
This is the first school photo of my daughter. I used this Basic Grey paper as it was covered with numbers. I cut a 6” by 6” square to mat my photo, with the Fiskars paper trimmer.
I have found out that by combining the ribbon punch and the threading lace punch you can make a new border.
Start by punching the ribbon border.

Don’t trim anything and place the paper into the threading water punch.
Line the punch up with the scallop join, you should not see the holes in the design.

I have punched a strip to go behind the paper in green so the border shows up.
I have cut two strips from contrasting paper and lined them up using the fiskars patchwork ruler. Although it may look like the lines aren’t straight they are and using this is a really good way to check.
I cut out the flowers with contrasting paper using the fiskars extra large squeeze punch.
To add extra dimension, use your fiskars embossing tool on a piece of funky foam or spongy mat and start at the outside of each petal and carefully work the tool to the centre.

This will give you a lovely 3D effect.
I added a couple of cut out crayons in the same colour theme and a journaling spot in contrasting paper.

I hope you might have a go at combining your border punches and try making some 3D flowers.
