*December Competition – I See Stars……*

Oooooh, this months competition is a biggie!  We will announce a First, Second and Third prize!!

Hopefully you will find some time over Christmas to take part!  Closing date for entries is Monday 5 January 2009 and voting will take place from 6-11 Jan and the winners will be announced on Monday 12 January 2009.

We want Fiskarettes to vote for the winning entry ~ so any time between 6-11 January email Caroline and Jayne with your choice of winner to address – (fiskarettesuk@googlemail.com) and the one with the most votes will win!  The person with the second highest numbers of votes is second and the third highest number of votes gets third prize.  If there is a tie in any situation the final decision will fall on Fiskarettes Ambassadors – one entry per person and a maximum of three photos per entry.

This competition theme is simply called: ‘I See Stars………’

2009 is the International Year of Astronomy.   ‘IYA2009 marks the 400th anniversary of Galileo Galilei’s first astronomical observation through a telescope in 1609, an event that changed astronomy forever. IYA2009 will be a global celebration of astronomy and its contribution to society and culture, with strong emphasis on education, public participation, and the involvement of young people, and with events at national, regional, and global levels. Many thousands of individuals in over 130 countries around the world are already involved, forming the world’s largest ever astronomy network. IYA2009 will portray astronomy as a peaceful global scientific endeavour that unites astronomers in an international, multicultural family of scientists, working together to find answers to some of the most fundamental questions that humankind has ever asked.’

We want your project to include stars!

You can submit a acrapbook layout, card, ATC, altered art, sewn project, jewellery or any other handcraft you can think of . It has to be a new piece of work made and submitted for our Fiskarettes competition only and you have to be a Fiskarette to participate.
