Birthday card ~ By Jayne Loughlin
by Clare
Sometimes Christmas can be a little over powering when it comes to crafts and take over completely. I have a little neice that is born on Christmas day and I like to make her a card so I have made her a Birthday card today using a Scalloped Squeeze Circle punch that hasn’t been released in UK for Fiskars until 2010 ! I can’t wait to play with this punch a little more & have a lot of ideas. The Squeeze punches are my favourite all time Fiskars products & I have a feeling this will be my favourite shape x
All You need are some papers for the background (lighter papers would be good) I punched shapes as I was using scraps of paper and stuck these to the card blank. Fiskars Large Scalloped Circle Punch (punch 6 circles)
A piece of cardstock 7cms x 15cms approx (i’ve folded card into thin concentinas) Punched one red cardstock circle - I’ve used a Circle Squeeze punch. Glue the concentina Cardstock piece onto the card not gluing right up to the top edge of the folds…Also note the two edges are on a slant to make the shape a little more cake case like. You can glue the middle down flat to the card or leave it in a curve like mine (the curve does push down so you can put the card into an envelope).

Slot the punched Circles in the top of the cake and glue when happy with placement. Add the red circle to the top to mimic a Cherry & that is a finished card. You could add a ribbon or a greeting if you wanted a more busy card x
I apologise about the photos I had to take them at night using a flash !

I absolutely love this, 2010 is far too long to wait for the new squeeze punches!

Imagine having a birthday on Christmas day! A blessing or a curse to the young lady I wonder. Love that you have done this gorgeous card for her Jayne. I remember my sister who’s birthday is 7th Dec always getting combined birthday/Christmas presents when we were younger and it used to really annoy and upset her. As it would anyone.
Love everything about this card, those new punches look so much fun! Making me hungry now though
I need to add that punch to my wish list. Great idea for a card.
Nice use of the new punch Jayne!
Fantastic card, I really like cup cakes.
