I thought today I would show you the things my children made me for Mothers day. I think they might just follow in my footsteps as I have a love for all things handmade. I used to make Jewellery as a Teen and then I taught myself to make Tiaras, I’ve dabbled in most crafts cardmaking, salt Dough, beading, painting, Knitting,Cross stitch & quilting but Scrapbooking has lasted the longest. My Eldest Daughter regulary scraps & the youngest one loves it too the middle daughter doesn’t like it but there’s still hope :) .

My middle daughter painted me the canvas above using watercolours, she didn’t like it but I love it. She’s only 14 and wants to take Art in her options at school.

My Youngest daughter made me her card at school, it’s supposed to be Blossom on a tree but I thought it was a cake ! Ooops ! Maybe she was a little rushed !

Did your children make you handmade gifts this year ?

I have also made a card but didn’t send it as I didn’t think it was Girlie enough (It could be changed quite easy to a DAD card for later in the year :) !!!!)  I used the Fiskars Apron Lace Border punch & The Scalloped Square & Circle large Squeeze Punches. 2 coloured papers, a sticker alpha and a button.

Wow that canvas is seriously good! And I frequently made that mistake when the girls were younger about what things were meant to be. I hope I’ve got down pat how to hedge around asking what it is now for the youngest :D

I got a handmade bunch of paper flowers from middle dd and chocolates from the other two. Yum. Mine are the same though they both enjoy different crafts and have varying patience with it ;) I think I got my love of crafts from my own Mum too. Good to feel we are passing it down isn’t it?

These are gogeous Jayne!! I love the fact that certain pieces of art can be interpreted in different ways LOL!! The canvas is fab too. I made my partners Mum a flower arrangement and card. My sis has pics of the flower arrangement from a course we went on. I will try and get a pic. Never done flower arranging before and it was good fun!

I got my love of crafting from my parents too and my dad especially loved Sewing especially Fancy Dress outfits (the photos i have of me and brothers dressed up in various costumes would make you chuckle) My mum was less crafty but i remember her making rocking chairs out of clothes pegs in the 70′s !

I prefer handmade to shop bought cards, even if you have to ask them to tell you about it to get idea of what they’ve created!!! My son (age 7) made his mothers day card at school, when he gave it to me he said “look mummy, I’ve added 3 bows as you can take them off and use them for scrapbooking”, awwww bless, I’d never take them off. I’ll take photo and upload later.
