Today I am showing you two projects.  The first is a series of Clutter Buckets that I have been working on. I didn’t use a pattern for these, as I am more of a “try it and see” kinda girl!  I love sewing, even though my skills are seriously questionable!  But I am learning a lot as I go, reading hints and tips here, learning how to box corners etc!  But the reason I am showing you is to recommend two products to you.

1: The Rotary Cutter.   AMAZING.   It’s very new to me, and as a quilter I would be lost without it now.  You can cut so easily that your ever growing pile of quilting squares appears in no time!  I used mine to create the sides of my clutter buckets.

The second tool I didn’t know I would love so much is the ShapeCutter system.   I have both the Circle Template and the ShapeCutter – and have only ever used it for paper. Well.. I was on the Fiskars UK website – looking at other templates, and found a “how to use” section of the site – being nosey I opened the file and had a read… nothing I didn’t know.. TILL I came to the end, and read “Can be used on fabric” WOOO!

If you have slippy fabric I recommend pinning some paper to the fabric first – but if you have stiff upholstery fabric – I found mine cut straight through! So.. I cut the circle bases for my clutter buckets with them.  Perfect!  Fiskars has done me proud again and I am very happy indeed!!

The second project is a quick Easter cupcake topper and a card.
The cupcake topper was made using the Circle Template to cut a medium circle out – then cut that with scissors into a spiral shape, and roll up and glue.   I then cut some leaves and added some flower centres before attaching it to a cocktail stick and popping it into a cupcake (so handy that I had some made lol!)
These toppers are oversized and for fancy tea parties only LOL – Plus, the recipient gets to take home the topper!

Onto the Easter card…
I used the Border Punch – Apron Lace on the card to create the background border strip.. and also I used the Fiskars Trimmer to cut all my paper and cardstock. I love how portable the trimmer is.  My previous trimmer is big and heavy and a nightmare to take to crops, but the Fiskars one is lightweight and fits in my tote! I am converted :-)

The little girl on the card is a vintage clip art that I printed twice, cut out (recommend Fiskars detail scissors) and layered up.

Thanks for looking, and for your comments – they are so lovely to read! Happy Easter! xxx

All fabulous, but love the clutter buckets, did you add anything to the seam at the top to stiffen them? and are they all lined?
