Love Challenge Inspiration
by ClareGood Afternoon Fiskarettes!
Today I thought I’d share a card I made with the Current Fiskarettes LOVE challenge in mind, hopefully to inspire you! I must say I don’t make a lot of love or Valentine’s cards, and I haven’t been to a wedding in years (all our friends seem to be married now), so it’s been a nice change. I have to remember of course that LOVE cards and projects can be given for a number of reasons, not just to say I love you. Read on to find out how I made this card.
Fiskars Supplies
Fiskars Squeeze Punch – Extra Large Heart
Fiskars Squeeze Punch – Medium Heart
Fiskars Border Punch – Scalloped Lace
Fiskars Clear Stamp – Flourish
Fiskars Clear Stamp – Lowercase, Uppercase letters and numbers
Other Supplies
Turquoise Pearlescent paper (from my scrap box)
red textured cardstock
doodlebug love ribbon
red polka dot and pink patterned paper
A6 card blank
Black Stazon ink
Clear ink pad
Clear embossing powder
White gel pen
Recipe
1. Cut turquoise paper to size to fit onto a white A6 card blank. Randomly stamp the leaf flourish onto the pearlescent paper using clear ink and emboss with clear powder. Mat onto red textured cardstock.
2. Punch the scalloped lace border punch from white cardstock, trim and fix to the right hand side of the card as shown. Add ribbon cut with an angled edge, wrapping the edge of the ribbon underneath the red cardstock for a neat finish.
3. Punch one medium heart from pink patterned paper and one extra large heart. Ink the edges with brown ink. Fix to the card as shown using 3D foam pads.
4. Finally stamp the word ‘love’ above the ribbon to finish.
!Top Tip! : when stamping onto pearlescent or previously embossed cardstock, using Stazon will ensure your greeting stays in place and doesn’t smudge.
Well, I hope you like my card, and that it inspires you to create LOVEly things!

What's Hot

Clare, cool card! I love the textured effect that you have created on your backing paper. Using embossing like that is a great idea. Your colour scheme really make the hearts ‘pop’beautifully, like the Fiskars stamps look really cool too. Anna x
This is beautiful! The colours are stunning! One of my favourite colour combos!

What a pretty card. It it seems quick to make, too – that’s always a factor for me, as I tend to spend so much time making up my mind what supplies to use on my card that there’s not a lot of time left for the actual making it. Your card has inspired me to go searching for my own heart-ribbons, I believe I do have some in my stash and this is the time to use them!
