Dad’s box

Well now.. I was so intrigued with the ‘ how to’ in the make a box video yesterday that I just had to shoot off and make one for myself.  If you knew the headaches I have measuring and cutting for the usual style of gift box… even with box making guides, you would understand.  Measuring is not really my forte… but with this box tutorial, whoohooo I’ve got it made.  Couple of sheets of card and a bit of finger manoevering and it all came together like magic.  To say I was impressed would be the understatement of the year!! It wasn’t at all time consuming either which was a big plus for me… no more hunting for square gift boxes ever, they are so quick to make that there is no need even to stockpile (which is good for us crafters who have too much stash to store as it is.)  LOL

So here is my version of the box ready for Fathers Day… I added a little bit of ribbon and a piece of Friendly Plastic that I had stamped with a watch image a while ago (will be sharing a how to, on this sometime soon) and Bobs your Uncle all done and dusted.  Fab box in the minimum amount of time using the minimum amount of stash…which means I’ve still got some left to play another day :)

Hope I’ve given you a little bit of inspiration for making your own.

    Great Box Chris and love your friendly plastic embellishment.
    I’ve just thought you could make these little boxes up to hold buttons and stuff in your craft room….us crafters always looking for storage.
