Card – Snowflakes
by Clare
This is the first Christmas card I have made this year and I had great fun using AquaMarkers to colour in the snowflake stamp to create the backing paper.
If you want even more of a watercolour effect you can use a mister to spray some water onto the coloured-in stamp before you apply it to paper.
I also coloured in some of the snowflake centres with Perfect Pearls – love the shimmery effect this gives and its perfect to use for Christmas cards!
Products Used:
- Fiskars Squeeze Punch – Circle, Medium
- Fiskars Trimmer
- Fiskars Scissors
- AquaMarkers
- Perfect Pearls
- Ink
- Ribbon, button, gems

Instructions:
- Create your backing paper using two coordinating AquaMarkers and two snowflake stamps. I used acrylic stamps and once applied to the acrylic block simply colour in the stamp with the marker and press onto the paper.
- Trim backing paper to fit your card blank. You could always do a large sheet of paper in one go to create more backing paper for further cards.
- Colour in part of your design with a Perfect Pen and then apply Perfect Pearls using a soft brush. Fix the pearls with a cheap hairspray or a fixative spray as they will rub-off without this. Choose a hairspray without conditioner as this may mark your paper.
- Tie a ribbon around the backing paper and tie into a bow. Tie a small piece of string around the knot of the bow and through a button.
- Using the Fiskars Squeeze Punch-Circle punch out two circles and ink them. Place one under the button and one off centre to that one for the sentiment. Stick into place. Secure the button with silicone or a foam pad.
- Sew the design onto the card blank and add a couple of gems.
- Using Fiskars scissors scuff around the edge of the design.
