Remember, any Registered Fiskarette can leave a post about anything crafty here!

Read on to find out how…

Here is a step by step guide to uploading an article onto the Fiskarette Blog. We get many emails regarding how to do this, especially the photo uploads, so if you think you might like to upload to this blog copy and paste the instructions and print them out for your reference, or use the search option on your right. Search for ‘articles’ and it will bring this post up.

This blog is unique in that it gives the reader the chance to participate in the blog content. We love receiving your articles and hopefully this will answer any queries about uploading that you may have.

- Login to the blog>top right hand column.

- You will see the Fiskarettes Menu. Click on ‘Post an Article’.

- This takes you to the page HERE where you write the info about the project you are sharing, and where you upload your photos.

- Choose a category. This helps when you want to search for all cards, or all scrapbook layouts. Don’t worry if you can’t find an appropriate category as I will always check this before publishing.

- Give your post a title.

- Write your content. Tell us what your project is, how you made it, who it is for – as much or as little as you want to share with the reader.

Uploading Photos

- You then have the Photo upload area. You can upload five photos but if you should want to upload more then just email us with the extra photos and explain what article they are for, or send them as a separate article.

- When uploading your photos you must ensure that they are no bigger than the specifications given.

eg. Picture details: Maximum width: 500 pixels. Maximum size: 1MB. Accepted formats: jpg, gif, png.

If the pictures are too big then you risk loosing all the information that you have just entered. This is one of the main areas which people are confused about. You must ensure that the photos you are uploading are no bigger than 500 pixels in width, and the overall size of the picture is no bigger than 1MB.

If you have problems with the sizing of your photos – if you don’t know how to change the size then there are lots of re-size sites available. One very simple one is picresize.com.

On this site click on ‘browse’ and select the picture you want resizing from your computer. Click continue.

You will then be on a page where you can see the picture you have just uploaded. To keep it simple go to option 2 – Choose New Size. Click on Custom Size. Type ’500′ into the width box.

Go to the bottom – save as a JPG, click Resize pic. This takes you to another page – click on Save to Disk. This will save to your computer at the new size.

You can then upload to the Fiskarette blog. Press send and the article is sent to the Admin section of the blog, where I will put everything into order and publish onto the blog within a couple of days (not including weekends).

If you do have any problems at any time please email me and I will be happy to help.

love, Clare x
