What's Hot

Well, my comment doesn’t count for the prize, but I’d like to see:
1. Sketch challenges
2. Other challenges like ‘use two flowers and some ribbon’ or ‘monochrome’
3. Maybe some freebies? – I love using downloads!
4. Ideas for using a particular tool, maybe beyond the obvious (but don’t forget the obvious, either – I can be very dim at times!)
5. Keep on with the Fiskarettes spotlight, but maybe show more of their work and get them to say why they did/didn’t do something, what they do/don’t enjoy.
6. Tip/cheat ideas – I never had any flesh-coloured card for faces, until I read a simply brilliant tip suggesting you use a bit of foundation to tint white card (not suitable for scarpbooks, of course, but it’s very handy if you’re making a baby card!)
7. News of new products, trends
8. Patterns and ideas to copy for when I’m short of inspiration
9. Some suggestions on how to use blogs, personalise them, take better digital pictures for uploading, etc – I’m just dipping my toe in and it’s all a bit overwhelming for a novice!
10. PRIZES!
well done allison.
and you have put forward some great ideas too.
will be back with some of my own later.

I just knew that TEN would be tricky!!! Tho some of mine will back up Allisons…sorry X
1. Spotlight new Fiskars products and what we can do with them.
2. How about some sketches?
3. Free downloads would be super
4. Keep up the competitions, they are great!
5. Great idea about the tips, the basic ones are the best tho
6. How about we spotlight the two Ambassadors
7. Have a how to section
8. er….running dry now hehe……….blog highlighting?
9. more encouragement for different types of crafting
10. Last but not least….keep up the good work X
Those scissor sharpeners are brilliant. I bought them for my dress making shears but use them for all my scissors now.
1)Keep us up to date on new Fiskars products.
2)Tips on using products (maybe a question and answer area)
3)Challenges to push us out of our comfort zone.
4)More LOs with instructions
5)An interpretive LO day, you post the requirements so we can gather the bits and then on another day post the instructions but no picture. Then we all upload our interpretation.
6)Card ideas
7)A chat forum
8)Competitions
9)A how to section or I’ve tried this but it didn’t work can anyone help
10) Carry on with what you’ve been doing as it’s been great fun
Forgot to add – swaps would be fun. Not just ATC ones, but maybe create 6/10? identical cards and swap so we all get a set of different ones.
I`m in full aggreemaent with everyone else on this one!!lol…
Since scissors are my favourites of all have to have a go at this one..
here goes..

4. Keep up the competitions, they are great!
5. Great idea about the tips, the basic ones are the best tho

`Thanks` for the chance Ladies…
Have a lovely Evening:)
The sort of things I would like to see on the Fiskarette blog in 2009 are:
1. More of the Spotlight features – they’re brill!
2. Some sketches to inspire card and scrapbook layouts
3. More challenges, maybe based on a colour scheme or using a particular item
4. Step-by-step projects to introduce new crafting techniques
5. More competitions – and I like the way we all get to vote on each other’s entries
6. A product masterclass – tutorials and hints on how to use Fiskars products because you can get in a rut and don’t think of different ways to use something
7. A birthday calendar so we can send greetings to our fellow Fiakarettes, either via this blog or by post if we can exchange addresses
8. A Day in the Life of… maybe one of the Fiskars designers – how do they come up with new products, etc.
9. Bloopers – somewhere to upload our projects that went horribly wrong, so we can help others not to make the same mistakes!
10. A general chat forum for when we have something to say but don’t have a project to upload with it
But most of all, more of the same please, it’s a great site and I enjoy visiting and being part of it.
Nicki, xx.
Oh, could do with some new scissors and love the sharpener.
Mini book master class
Here goes!
1) Ideas on how to use the new fiskars products
2) Altered art competition
3) Maybe a fiskars circle journal? Swapped amongst the regulars?
4) Use up your scraps ideas – got loads and need to know what to do with them all!
5) Storage solutions when you have very little space!
6) Scrap yourself competition with facinating facts so we can get to know each other better!
7) Magpie ideas – using up stuff around the home
9) A project that can spread over the year – like one photo a month and then incorporate into a LO/Mini book next December.
10) More chat, competitions and lots of what you do already. I love this site.
Thanks you and Merry Christmas!!

x jayne x
1 competitions
2 daily tips
3 send out a tool/product to a member and see what they can come up with using it
4 lets have the ‘weekly star’ back… the fiskarettes keep this blog going and it would be lovely to reward them on a weeky basis.
5 Run childrens competitions in age groups I feel sure you would get more joining in.
6 choose 2 fiskarettes a week to make something creative from the same ‘stuff’ sent out by fiskars, we get to see what creations both turn out.
7 ATC competions.
8 Step-by-step projects to introduce new crafting techniques
9 spotlight on Fiskarettes blogs showing what else we get up to
10 altered art as I love it.
well you did ask …lol
chriss x
I would like to see:
1. Tutorials showing techniques, with close up photos and not too much text, just like Tim Holtz did it for his “12 tags of Christmas”.
2. Every newsletter should contain a “how to do” tip, however brief
3. Competitions, such as: recommend Fiskarettes to a friend and be part of a prize draw if she joins
4. Prizes
5. Sketch Challenges where the sketch is set by a celebrity card designer
6. Other challenges sking for a certain technique, material used, a theme, colour, recycled materials…
7. Let Fiskarettes take on small responsibilities, for example by giving one of us the opportunity to set the sketch tasks for a weekly Sketch challenge for lets say 6 weeks. Every week, another randomly drawn Fiskarette could choose the winning entry.
8. Interviews with crafters who are making a business out of their crafting passion – with advice for those of us who are dreaming about starting a little business on the side that might one day allow us to give up our day jobs
9. A newsboard for international crafting events
10. Have a design team where the Fiskarettes who have been chosen to be part of this team will receive goodies from Fiskars to use for making a project every two weeks, and then show the different designs in the newsletter.
Oooh, these are all great ideas – so looking forward to 2009!
Some great ideas from everyone and some very different ones there from CraftyAggy, well done to everyone for thinking that one through at short notice and little time to spare due to the man in the red suit comes…lol
