Hi there,

I thought I would e good to get to know our Fiskarettes DT members a little better, so I sent them a bunch of questions and first to be introduced to you is Jane Millard.

 Please introduce yourself
I am married to a very understanding Husband and have two teenage boys and a little border terrier called Charlie. I live in Bracknell in the South of England and work full time on a Helpdesk which can be quite hectic so I make time to craft everyday as I find it very relaxing and therapeutic. I am on several Design Teams and also Design for Quick Cards Made Easy Magazine.

When did you start crafting, and what got you into it?
I have tried lots of different crafts since I was a little girl but started Papercrafting in 2008. I went along to a Friend’s house who was holding a Scrapbooking Party and started Scrapbooking then a few months later started using my scraps for cards and got hooked on
Cardmaking.

 What are your favourite techniques?
I love sewing on my cards and stamping and colouring with Promarkers, I also love using Buttons and Ribbons to add lots of texture to my Projects.

When did you take crafting to the ‘next level’ – ie more than a hobby?

I joined some Design Teams in 2009 after starting my blog and after getting positive feedback about my Cards from fellow bloggers I plucked up the courage to approach the Editor of a Magazine, she liked my cards and asked me to Design some cards for them and I have been Designing cards  for the Magazine on a regular basis since then.

What do you like most about being on a DT or designing for magazines etc?
I love taking on the Challenge of a new Commission especially if it involves trying new techniques. I love being part of a team and getting inspired by my DT teamies as well. It’s great seeing how different the same images or products can look when used by different Designers with their own individual style.

What do you like least?
I can’t really think of any negatives! I consider myself very lucky to be able to work with such talented Designers on the Design Teams I belong to and to work with such great stamps and products before they go on general release is really exciting!

What are your other hobbies, other than crafting?
