Fiskarette Spotlight - Alison

by Jayne & Caroline

Today we are speaking with Fiskarette Alison !

Fiskarette Alison

- What do you like most about crafting? –

When I’m working away, I’m in a little world of my own - and I love colour, so it’s fun playing with all the colours.

- What are your favourite techniques? -

Punching and stamping - quick results!

- Are there any techniques you want to try that you haven’t already?  Or are there any you would like to master? -

Not exactly crafting, but the one thing I’ve never been able to get my head round is crochet. But as I do virtually everything else - cross-stitch, quilting, kniting, scrapbooking, cardmaking etc. etc., I’d probably never have the time.

- Which project are you most proud of?  Can you show us a picture? -

I’m proud of all my creations, but I was pleased with a paper-pieced ice-cream sundae that was one my entries when I won the Cardmaker of the Year competition last year with Origin Publishing. I forgot to take a photo of it befire I sent it off but I made another one for myself and here it is.

- Is there a crafty gift you are hoping for this Christmas? -

I’ve tried the cuttlebug and I really like it but I already have the old red Sizzix so I don’t really need it (you can tel I’m a Scot, can’t you!)

- Favourite Fiskars product? -

I love punches, and I’ve been very impressed with the way the Circle punches create a frame for a circular image or wreath.

- Which Fiskars product are you looking to purchase next? -

Some of the new Heidi Grace papers; they’re such lovely colour combinations.

- What do you like most about the Fiskarettes site? -

I like the variety of projects that you and Jayne put up and I love seeing what other people have made; there’s so many ideas to pick up.

- What is on your craft desk at the moment? -

Piles of clutter, same as always!

-  Is there anyone in the craft world who inspires you most? -

I like Jo Kill’s designs, and I’m very impressed by the lady who set up Funky Hand to sell her own digital papers. How cool would that be?!

- What advice would you give to someone just starting out in papercrafts? –

Have fun with it, and don’t think anyone’s work is better than your own. Yours has to be better than anyone else’s because you made it.

- Just for fun can you tell us:-

Your favourite movie:

No - too many to choose! But I’m looking forward to the Wizard of Oz and Muppet Christmas Carol now Christmas is coming.

Your favourite colour:

Rainbow

Tea or Coffee?

Urgh - neither. I only drink cold drinks - I know, I’m weird…..

Summer or Winter?

Winter - I like jumpers and scarves, even we don’t seem to get as much snow as I remember when I was young.

Chocolate or Crisps?

Ooh - chocolate!

Thanks Alison!
