Fiskarettes Spotlight - Lynne aka Beadmad
by Jayne & CarolineTodays Spotlight is with Lynne - Beadmad …….

*Can you tell us a bit about yourself……*
I’m married and have one daughter who has just started at University. I can’t sit and do nothing, I’m always happier when my hands are occupied.
*What are your favourite craft techniques?*
I LOVE glitter and sparkle. I’ll try anything once. I do like inking and distressing, I have a close friend who can’t stand messy crafting and it’s fun to see her face when I show her the latest thing I’ve done.
*What is on your craft desk at the moment?*
Sakura quickie glue pen (great for adding glitter accents). Ring stick and ring sizer, a friend showed me how to make button rings and now I can have a go at home. Laptop, cricut expression, Fiskars squeeze punch and embossing border punch. Xyron sticker maker. A pile of card bits ready for the Marie Curie appeal. My sketch book, well I can’t draw but like to jot ideas down. Thumbnail prints of a trip to
*Where do you craft? Can you show us your craft area?*
On the dining room table, which is by my craft desk. One day I will have a craft room.
*Do you have a favourite quote or poem?*
”A day without laughter is a wasted day.” I can’t remember who wrote it, but I do try to find something to laugh about each day. If you asked my DD, she would say I was bound to have done something to make her laugh.
*Any hints or tips you would pass on to anyone else?*
If a LO or card isn’t working out, put it to one side and go back to it later, it’s amazing how coming back to it fresh gives you the answer.
When positioning an odd number of embellishments or photos always start with the middle one and then work either side. This way they will be evenly spaced.
Believe in yourself!
*Other than craft stash, do you collect anything or have any other hobbies?*
*I also enjoying beading (hence my user name). I love the feel of a piece taking shape and the admiring comments when people see what I’ve done. I also make torchon lace, but haven’t done as much recently. I used to do cross-stitch too.*
*Do you have any favourite projects you would like to show us pictures
of and why are they your favourite?*
An all white LO I did for a challenge. I didn’t think it would work and was so pleased with the result. I hid the journaling, I’m not keen on my handwriting. I used glitter and twinkling H2Os on it too. I love the effect you get with twinkling H2Os.

I also did a mini-album for a very close friend as a birthday card for a milestone birthday, about my memories of her.

pages 3 and 4

pages 9 and 10

pages 11 and 12
*What makes you smile?*
Just being alive.
*What annoys you!?*
Rude people!
*Favourite song right now?*
Amy Macdonalds Footballer’s Wife
*Favourite film/book?*
The Harry Potter books and films
*If you could be invisible where you go and what would you do?*
I’d go to watch the latest Harry Potter film being filmed. I’d try a few Peeves type tricks to tease the cast.
*Do you have an burning desire to fufil any ambition before you reach
your next birthday milestone, eg. 30, 40, 50, 60?*
I had a milestone birthday last year and my sister took me to
*If you could take three things with you on a desert island, what would
they be?*
My camera, War and Peace (one day I will finish reading it) and a fishing rod and tackle.
*Do you have a favourite Fiskars product or one you would like to try?* I love the squeeze punches, they are so easy to use. Punching out a particular piece of pp is so easy, you don’t have to turn it upside down and then squeeze slightly before putting it on the table and then find it’s slipped. I would like the oval one as I loved the way Jayne used it for the scalloped edge she did.
*Which is your favourite time of the year and why?*
The summer, because then I can go body boarding, I just love the sunshine and being by or in the sea.
Thanks Lynne - lovely to know more about you!

Nice to learn more about you Lynne, and I love your mini book, there’s so much work gone into making it, I’m sure your friend was thrilled.
Nicki, xx.
I love the idea of an all-white layout, and you’ve made it so beautifully. Love the snowman too!
Fab to learn a bit about you Lynn..TFS:)~X~
Liz I think you do and it’s great that Baby Chicks fame is spreading. It was so much fun taking him with us and started many interesting conversations.
For everyone else, I am holding Baby Chick in the first photo. He belongs to a reception class and likes to travel and have his photo taken in exciting places. He always remembers to send the class a postcard from his trip. Sometimes he brings the class a present back too. This time it was a rather noisy one!
really nice to learn more about you and thank you for sharing the top photo…what a fantastic piece of ART. i love it.
