I thought I would tell you all about the Card workshop I went on at the weekend. Giselle, Hils & Mandy ran a Christmas card workshop. There were at least 8 Fiskarettes there !!!! We made lots of cards and minibooks, Lots of techniques were taught and I now have an urge to buy alcohol inks ! I saw various Fiskars tools were being passed around and CarolineBee really did promote Fiskars products which made me laugh :D The day was great and fun was had by all. We even had a card competition & a Egg cosy Competition. Here’s some photos of the day….

Above all the cards and minibooks made on the day. Below one of the cards designed by Giselle using the Sunburst Fiskars border punch. Debbie our own fiskarettes DT…

Thanks for the really flattering photo Jayne! I will get my own back…. It was really great to try some new techniques, I think that I also NEED some alcohol inks. It was also good to look at techniques that I haven’t used for a while. Can’t wait for the next workshop! (how did Beadmad escape being photographed? Did she pay you?).

I have a lovely photo of Jayne and beadmad I will have to upload lol.

Seriously what a fabulous day and so nice to try lots of techniques in one day. Really gives you a taster and helps you to decide what to spend your money on.

I was there!! Really enjoyed it, got me in the mood for Christmas – so much that I bought my first pressie today.

I loved the card with all the cutting and folding and made a few more after the workshop – I had to really concentrate on it in the class but I was able to knock them out at speed at home because my trusty old Fiskers trimmer has just the right marks on it for scoring the lines and cutting them exactly – can’t do that on my bigger trimmer, so I would have had to use a knife, which would have taken longer. I’ll try and post a pic later.

I had the same trouble with my big Trimmer. The small portable trimmer points exactly where its cutting and ideal for cutting precise areas !

I was there too! We had a great day!! Haven’t had my alcohol inks out for a while – but was inspired to get them out again tonight and have a play.

I was there, in the second photo on the right handside is a purple tote with a green bin by it. I was hiding behind the purple tote.
It was a brilliant day, I’ve been playing with my alcohol inks and stamping on acetate.
