DT Member – Stephanie Baxter
by Steph BaxterHi to all you lovely Fiskarettes! I’m Stephanie (or Steph…whichever you’d like…I don’t really mind!), I’m 24 years old and live in Epsom, Surrey. Just some bits of trivia about my lovely hometown…it’s the home of the Epsom Derby and Epsom Salts, and is also mentioned in ‘Pride and Prejudice’, which makes me very happy indeed seeing as it’s my favourite book!

Anyway, I digress. I still live in home with my mum, stepdad, brother, sister, cat and dog (that’s one of the downsides of living in Epsom…completely not affordable to live there for someone my age!).

This means I don’t have a fancy craft room or anything like that…I just have to make do with scrapping in my bedroom! Currently, I’m training to be a primary school teacher but since graduating from university I’ve also been a journalist and an air hostess.

I’ve been scrapbooking seriously for about 2 years now, and am genuinely hooked. For me, it’s just as much about the creative outlet of actually making something than it is about preserving memories. Since I’m unmarried and have no children, the subject of most of my pages is my day-to-day thoughts…getting my thoughts and feelings down on paper is definitely a cathartic process, and being able to do that with pretty paper and fancy punches and things makes even better!

My favourite techniques/trends right now are:
1. ruffles
2. handmade fabric rosettes
3. butterflies
4. layered circles and other layered accents/embellishments
5. divided backgrounds

Seeing as I pretty much use Fiskars products on every layout I make, I’m so excited to be a part of the Fiskarettes DT for the next three months, and I can’t wait to share my enthusiasm for Fiskars with you all.
