2009

Todays post I thought I would tell you a little about myself & friends who are fellow Fiskarettes Debbie, Cheryl, Faye, Joy & Rachel and our trip to the NEC Birmingham Hobbycraft Show Saturday. Unfortunately Caroline and myself didn’t go on Fiskarettes behalf this year but instead went seperately for our own pleasure. It was the busiest I have seen it in years and there was so much stash to see & buy
. There were a lot of demos around the show and helpful staff and though at times the sheer business of all the customers was a little frustrating the amout of New things and bargains were amazing. I reccomend the show very much.
I met Caroline there too (See photo above). We haven’t met up in person for a while. So it was nice to catch up. Think we both overspent on goodies (well I did anyhow) but it will be nice to see what we have both created with our new buys. I bought a lot of blossoms, Stamps, Specialised ink and blank cards plus some pens.
If you have been to the Hobbycrafts show in the past week do tell us what you thought of the day/days and what kind of things you bought. Perhaps even show us what you’ve created with your new goodies. We like to share
. I’ld also like to know if you think you’ll be going next year and what do you think would make the experience a little easier or more fun next time. Perhaps if Fiskarettes go next year we could put some of your thoughts into practice xx
Below are some silly photos whilst chilling out and having lunch with friends, A fun day was had by all….sorry ladies

What's Hot

It really was a fabulous day, tiring but in the best sort of way.
No people with trolleys would make the experience easier, perhaps fiskarettes could have a trolley park lol.
The more considerate people left their trolleys in the cloakroom.
Would be nice to be able to sit down somewhere as my feet were really aching by the end of the day.One lady posted on UKS that her and her friends went back to the car at lunch time as it was so busy, they sat down, ate picnic and revitalised themselves lol.
we (fiskarettes) booked a room last year at NEC but there weren’t a terrific amount of Fiskarettes that popped in,We did have fun & We have ideas in the pipeline for next year and of course will tell all Fiskarettes nearer to the date.
Sorry but i don’t speack english very well ! So thanks for your message about my christmas card !
Sounds like you had a great time.
Fab photos, it was such a lovely day, so much fun although I was so tired on Sunday I slept all afternoon
Jayne can you email met the photos
sure i will Rachel xx it was a great day but I was tired too the next day !
I was tired on Sunday too!
I was buzzing on the Saturday and really excited with what I had bought. Spent Sunday doing the dreaded housework and then fell asleep before 9pm!
A fab day at the NEC. I would have loved a little place to sit and escape the crowds as it was very difficult to get a seat to eat our soup!
The stalls were amazing with fab demos. There were some really good prices and I would definately go again. A wonderful time with w2onderful friends x
I had a great time at the NEC. I went on the Saturday with two friends. We arrived at 9.30am when it opened and left when it closed at 5.30pm! It was really busy and it would have been nice to have had a quiet place to sit down for a while – away from the crowds. Lots of great demos though and we came home, as usual, with lots of goodies! Already in the diary for next March!!

Fab photos, looks like a case of “Here come the girls”!! Glad you all had such a great time
Added to say: I’d love to go in March as I missed this one, sharing cars & parking would be a big benefit!
I missed the NEC this year as I was attending the 1st European Convention of Stampin’ Up! and it was fantastic.
This was however the first one that I have missed in 5 years.
You look like you all had a fab time
Emma xx
Ooh just spotted this. Lovely to see your faces
You look like you had so much fun. That’s the good thing about the Alexandra Palace shows – The entire length of the walls all the way round the hall are benches and you can park your bum just to take the weight off your feet. Myself and DD took a picnic when we went there and then sat outside eating that, getting some air.
Still had the problem of the ankle bashers with the trolleys though
