From time to time we are going to have a Guest Designer who will design projects just for the Fiskarettes.
Our very first Guest Designer is Kirsty Wiseman and here are some questions that I asked her. See Article below - Its the Little Touches… - for Kirsty’s first of four Fiskarette projects……..x

Can you tell us a bit about yourself……
My name is Kirsty Wiseman. I am 38 years old and married to Mark. Together we made Ellie who is 13; who is our very heart and soul. Then we got a dog, a handsome mini Dachshund and whom Ellie named him Eddy. We live in the Greater Manchester area of England and together we are invincible. Ive been crafting for 7 years now and love all aspects of papercrafting but I especially like scrapbooking. Its a hobby I can tie in with my profession, photography and I don’t think I would ever tire of it. For me its about the creative outlet as opposed to genealogy although the genealogy comes as an added extra as part of the process. I also like to play with all digitial aspects of scrapbooking too which encouraged me to trial out all sorts of otherfreelance income like web graphics and company logo designing too. I love making stuff in fact, I make stuff everyday!

What are your favourite craft techniques?
I dont think I have a speciality or a definate technique. I like to try little bits here and there technique is not my forte. I do like to layer and colour balance, I suppose, but I don’t have any defining style or technique that would seperate me from the average scrapbooker. Its all about experimenting and enjoying the process.

What is on your craft desk at the moment?
I have several memory cards from the camera, a card reader, a can of diet coke, a “to do” list, post it notes, a pen, a wacom tablet and pen tool, a little bit of dust and a whole lot of imagination.

Where do you craft? Can you show us your craft area?

My husband coverted our adjoining garage for me two years ago. Its not huge and has no natural daylight but it works and its a place I can shut the door on when I have had enough.

Do you have a favourite quote or poem?
I have several favourite quotes that inspire me; these are my favourites:
Its nice to be important but its more important to be nice.
Seven days without laughter makes one weak.
Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass…it’s about learning to dance in the rain.

Any hints or tips you would pass on to anyone else?
Buy the sharpest and most expensive scissors you can afford. And craft when you are alone in the house but its more fun to craft at a crop.

Other than craft stash, do you collect anything or have any other hobbies?
I collect Enid Blyton books. the older and rarer the better. I have over 300 of them, some of them first editions too. I have one that is worth over £1000 and Im saving them all for my daughter as a sort of inheritence

Do you have a favourite project you would like to show us a picture of and why is it your favourite?

This project is over 4 years old. I love it because I loved the line of paper I used on it but also I love the photograph of my daughter in it too. Scrapbooking has come on leaps and bounds since then but this layout will always be dear to my heart.
