Hybrid Altered blackboard
As it was my sisters Birthday a short while ago and I am going through an altering phase, I decided to combine the two and create some personalised gifts for her. I always find it a pleasure to make gifts like this as I get a lot of satisfaction from them and I know that usually the person I make them for appreciates the time and love that goes into their creation. It just makes them extra special I think .The gifts were really well received and I knew that my sister really liked them (because she was showing them to everyone) this more than made up for the time that I spent getting covered in paint and glue and cleaning up my mess. I just can NOT be a tidy crafter no matter how hard I try… and I do try… just not very hard…lol Well tidy just isn’t much fun is it :D

First of all I altered a blackboard, adding a frame to it with paper covered cardboard. I wanted a distressed look so I dabbed the edges with paint and also painted the chipboard shapes and the edges of the blackboard itself, before sanding slightly to remove some of the paint. I have also been toying with the idea of making paper dolls so took this opportunity to add one to my project. I used a photo of my sister from when she attended a bad taste party some time ago and made up my paper doll around it using printed out digital papers from the Windy Washday kit over at Cen’s loft I paper pieced over the doll shape to create a kind of apron and crown. I finally added some bling…well a girl’s gotta have bling right and a piece of ribbon to hang it from. All in all I had a thoroughly fab time… just what a crafting girl needs eh !!

I used a top from a felt pen to hold the chalk in Chriss, I wrapped a small piece of paper around it and adhered it to the board with a 3d sticky pad :)
