Today we have an interview with Yiotas of Yiotas XStitch.  This is a website selling cross stitch patterns and kits and you will also find free patterns to download.

My mother-in-law encouraged me to start stitching bigger designs from fine art paintings. I was so fascinated from my first completed fine art project that I decided to make my own patterns from famous fine art painters and Victorian antique prints.

As my background is in arts and computer design, I fell in love with my new hobby – designing and creating cross stitch patterns and then stitching them. After a couple of years I encouraged my husband (who was also in the computer design field) to create our own online shop to sell our designs. We started our business in 2006 and we have been loving it ever since!

church

My favorite design is the Santorin church. I took a photo of a Greek traditional church in the famous island of Santorini while on vacation. I made this photo into a cross stitch pattern and kit as it reminds me of my country of origin, Greece.

Yiotas XStitch is a UK-based small family business with an online mail-order cross stitch shop. The designs offered by Yiotas XStitch are inspired from classic fine art paintings and Victorian era ladies and scenes. We ship our patterns and kits worldwide. We also offer our patterns for download/email (within 24 hours from order placement) so people can save on the postage and packaging fees.
