Birthday bunting.
by ClareI’m not a great sewer so I thought I would surf the web to try and see how Bunting was made so I can make some for my daughters birthday party. I’ve also seen tons of different ways to make bunting including a stained glass bunting and a eco green one using carriers ideal for gardeners to keep the birds away!

Here are some instructions : You will need : A rotary trimmer with pinking blade & craft mat (pinking shears if you haven’t got a trimmer), Material scraps , cotton tape or bias binding to the length you want your bunting, sewing machine.
1.From the mix of fabric scraps, cut triangles measuring 20cm across the top by 25cm long using pinking shears or rotary cutter.
2.Sew down the sides of triangles if you want the bunting to be long-lasting – it’s not necessary if the bunting is for occasional use only.
3.Press a long length of 2.5cm-wide white cotton tape in half lengthwise.
4. Place tops of triangles(2ocm) inside folded tape and stitch in place with triangles positioned 5cm apart.
Thats it !!!!

Great idea Jayne. Thanks for the step by step tips
I’m going to put the bunting in Keiras bedroom after her birthday !
I have a rotary cutter too, now where did I put those scraps of material?
Love the colours in this bunting
MUST give this a try!
That’s a pretty bunting, and ecological, too. I bet it can be used again and again, as opposed to bought ones of cheap quality which just seem to come apart after a while.
