Butterfly Happy!
by ClareGood Evening Fiskarettes!
Firstly, can I apologise for not having made an appearance on here for the last few days! As well as trying to rest my hand, I have also had no internet connection at my house. I feel so cut off! And this continues – as I speak I’m sat here at my friend’s house, as they have kindly let me use their internet connection. I hope to get a new router very soon so that normal transmission can continue!
Today I wanted to share a card with you that I loved making! I’ve also incorporated something that I haven’t used for a long time – shrink plastic…read on to find out more!

Patterned Paper
White and Aqua Core’dinations Cardstock
Black fine line pen
White Shrink Plastic
Heat tool
Black ink (StaZon)
White pen
White letters (AC Thickers)
Pokey tool, Needle and white thread (or sewing machine)
Chalk inks
Corner rounder punch
Instructions
1. Take Kraft cardstock and cut to measure a folded A6 card. Round the corners with a corner rounder punch. Cover the card as shown using pink patterned paper. Take core’dinations cardstock and punch a border using the stamp border punch and fix to the bottom of the card.
2. Take striped patterned paper and trim to measure 1.5cm in width. Mount onto kraft cardstock and use to cover up the join in the two patterned papers.
3. Create holes within the aqua cardstock and striped patterned paper and stitch a zig zag across the card. Alternatively, use a sewing machine to create a zig zag stitch across the card.
4. Cut a 2.5 inch circle from the shapecutter template with the shapecutter tool and layer onto the card as shown, trimming the excess once fixed onto the card. Use a black fine line pen to draw a freehand border around the edge of the circle.
5. Cut three differently sized butterflies from shrink plastic and lightly ink with chalk inks onto the rough side. Stamp with the paisley and elegant vine stamps, leaving the smallest butterfly plain.
6. Shrink all three butterflies using a heat tool, once shrunk but still warm carefully shape so the wings are raised. PLEASE NOTE: Be very careful – shrink plastic gets very hot! Fix to the card as shown using hot glue.
7. Finally, use the white letters to spell happy (or the greeting of your choice) and add detail with a fine line pen to the punched border and the top of the pink patterned paper.
Well I hope you like the card, I love all the fresh summery colours, and the stamp border punch finishes the card off a treat!
love and crafty hugs!
