During one of my many stash sort-outs I came across this lovely paper from Prima that had never seen the light of day!  I fell in love with the colours and design and so had to make this card.

I am loving distressing my edges again too, and had great fun creating a deep scalloped border and tearing and curling the edges over for a tactile, 3d effect.

Fiskars Products Used:

Other Products Used:

  • Patterned papers – Prima
  • Ink
  • Sentiment Stamp
  • Organza ribbon
  • Brads
  • Tag

Instructions:

  • Trim your paper to fit your card blank, making the layering piece slightly smaller than the backing.
  • Attach to your card blank with stitching, and roughen and age the edges with the blade of some scissors.

  • Cut a deep strip of paper and punch a border on one edge.
  • Wrap ribbon around the border and adhere to the back.
  • Create two holes and push brads through.
  • Attach the border to your card.  Cut the top randomly and then curl over.  Its sometimes helpful to start the curl using a pen or embossing stylus or something similar.

  • Using the Lever Punch, punch out two butterflies and attach to the card.  Just stick the body down and then you can tease the wings to stick up and curve over.
  • Slightly colour your little tag with ink and stamp on your sentiment.
  • Attach to the card using a 3d pad, and tie the string around the brads in a figure of 8.
