Card – Mushroom Home
by Clare
This is a card for the June Fiskarette Focus of ‘Home’ and Embossing. The embossed bit here is the kraft card – a bit difficult to see on the photo, but I used the Carpet Texture Plate, which is part of the Freebie offer (add your comment to be in with a chance of winning!). Its a lovely wavey pattern. Spray with a fine water mist before embossing to give a more defined pattern.
Fiskars Products Used:
- Texture Plate – Carpet (third row down and in the middle)
- Trimmer
- Pinking Shears
Other Products Used:
- Kraft card
- Paper
- Ribbon
- Flower
- Pin
- Stamp (freebie from a magazine!)
- Memento Ink
- Copics
- Scrap piece of net

How to:
- Trim kraft card to fit your card blank. Emboss using the Texture Plate – use the Embossing Tool or a die-cut machine.
- Layer coloured paper onto the kraft paper. Adhere together and then sew into place. I also sewed a wobbly frame all around the edge.
- Before sewing be sure to add the ribbon to the bottom of the card.
- Colour in your stamped image ( I used Copics). Adhere this into place on top of the layered paper.
- Take your little piece of net and fold in half. Cut along both edges with the Pinking Shears to give a zigzag edge. Tie a piece of cotton around the centre to give a bow effect. Fan out and place just under the flower. This just gives a little extra dimension and interest to the flower and is very inexpensive!
- Add the pin for the final flourish.

What a gorgeous card Caroline. I shall have to try that technique for the embossing xx
Love the embossed effect – will be trying that with kraft card. Love the wobbly stitching too x
Super cute image and your fluffy tulle bit behind the flower looks fab!
I am so jealous of your sewing machine, sewing is such a lovely effect, and very homely,
