I have used a cute Fiskars ShapeCutter Template called Cakes …It cuts cakes that are a great size to make Scrapbook embellishments & also ideal for cards. You could emboss the cakes to give them texture and/or really bling them up. I love my Template and I’m sure i’ll have lots more fun experimenting with it x
Items needed: Cardstock, Patterned paper (I’ve used a Fiskars Heidi grace pack from old stock) ShapeCutter Plus, Cakes Template, X large Circle Squeeze punch, Effervescence Border punch, Scissors, glue, Foam pads, Alphabet stickers or Die cuts for title.
Instructions: First take your 12″ Cardstock and rip all the way around the edges approx 1-2 cms off each edge. I’ve also roughed up the edges a little by ripping a few slits in 3 sides and folding the slits back. Of course if you aren’t into tearing paper just cut a straight edge for a different more neater look.
Next take your Shapecutter and by freehand cut out a square centre from a piece of Patterned paper (see photo below) It doesn’t have to be neat, You are just cutting it so you can save some of your paper for another project. The shapecutter is far more easier cutting a square than scissors you can start anywhere and this helps you not waste paper & no punching holes to start you off.

Glue this frame discarding the middle shape onto the BACK of your Ripped cardstock. The paper should show around every edge(refer to layout)
Next you need to cut a large cupcake for the background of the L/O. I have used the edge of my Tempate to cut straight edges using the Shapecutter (see photo)
You should have a piece like the shape below.

Now measure the width of your Cupcake case and cut a semi circle the same width at the bottom, You can trim either piece if it does not match up ! Also Punch a Circle using the XL Circle squeeze punch out of Bright red cardstock or paper. Arange pieces onto your l/o base as below. **Note i didn’t rip the edges until after this step but I’ve told you to do this first as it is a lot easier.

Next Mat your photo on two piecse of pattern paper , The first mat approx 1cm larger all the way round and the second piece approx 1.5cms larger than your previous mat. Place this to the left hand facing side and glue when happy with position.
Now for the mini cupcakes …Use your Shapecutter Plus and on a Fiskars cutting Mat cut 3 cases and 3 toppings of your choice., plus a Cherry shape. Attach tops to bottoms and then back with foam pads. Stick the 3 cakes on the bottom starting on the left hand facing side and 1cm apart in a row. You can decorate with Glitter glue or another embellishments. I’ve added shine cut out of white paper to the Cherry.
I used Alpha Stickers for the title and doodled onto the circle with red pen as the stickers weren’t really the right colour to start. As you can see in photo below the foam pads just lift the cakes a little from the L/O . I also put the last word of the title onto one of the cakes !

Hope you like and I do recomend this Template for fast easy ways to make little cupcakes xx

Thanks for the tip on cutting the middle out of the cardstock, I’ve tried all sorts of ways, but yours is so easy.
