DT Project – Birthday Card…by Michelle
by ozzycat
The card that I tend to need the most is a Birthday Card – I struggle to have enough for my needs and try and make a batches of them so I have enough. This card is a very quick and easy one.
1. I cut white card stock for the card base to 10″ x 7.5″ and folded in the middle.
2. I selected 3 scraps of card and used my Fiskars Bracket Border Punch to punch a border in each about 10″ long and just under 1″ high.
3. I layered up the coloured punched borders so they made a lovely pattern and glued them in place from the bottom up and left about half inch between each one. There are 5 strips of punched borders.
4. I selected a co-ordinating paper that tied the colours of my cardstock together, this one is Cosmo Cricket DeLovely range.

5. On my desk was a small strip left over from the punched borders and it was the perfect size to finish off the trim where the borders and paper overlapped.
6. I had a My Minds Eye shaped Happy Birthday tag and adhered it using foam pads.
7. I selected 3 different colours of seam binding and made 3 bows and glued them in place using Glossy Accents.
and there you are – one simple, quick birthday card. This card went down very well at my local crop on Saturday, and hopefully you will get a chance to use the Bracket Border Punch which is my all time fave at the moment.
