Tracie

With Easter soon approaching and the first signs of spring beginning to appear I wanted to make something with a light airy feel to it.

So I decided to make a little hanging decoration to be put up in my home….

You will need:
Fiskars ShapeCutter Plus and Mat
Fiskars Large Circles Template
Fiskars Scallop and Circle punches
6 co-ordinating patterned papers in 3 colours
3 colours of cardstock
4 Topper images
Matching ink pads
Glitter

I started off by cutting a ring shape using the internal and external templates of one of the super circles. This gives the wreath a base and a shape to follow. I used whatever scrap of card I had as it wont be seen (hence the dayglo colour!!)

Then I set about punch circles from my patterned paper and scallops from my card. I think my final total was 5 of each colour scallop and 6 of each paper ( I added more as I was building the wreath). I used inks to edge the circles and scallops to add a little depth.

Finally it was a simple case of deciding where to put your circles and scallops, some were just circles, others mounted. Its purely a matter of personal taste and just building up the wreath as you go, trying to keep variation in colour and a general round shape.

Finally I cut my topper images  with a scallop punch and mounted them with 3D foam on top. I decided to add a little sparkle with glitter and am really pleased with my new home decor piece.

You can also add a little hanging loop of ribbon by simply taping it to the back ring.

Hope you like my project… and Happy Spring!

TRacie, week after week your projects are fantastic, you’re so inspiring! I’ve been following this blog for ages and you seem quit restricted in the Fiskars products you have (presume they were a bit mean LOL) but yet again you’ve come up with some great ideas on how to turn a boring punch into something great! Keep up the good work, can’t wait for next week! xx JacquiQx

Having been on the DT previously I can say Fiskars are very generous with the tools they give you (mine would have cost me about £120 to buy) and I’ve been envious that the present DT have had products that have only just been launched in the UK at the recent Stitches show. I’m looking forward to being able to buy some of them myself, particularly the snow bubbles round the corner punch.

Fiskars provide us with a great blog where we can share our creations even if you are new to crafting.
    A chat facility.
The chance to win great prizes in the competitions.
Free entry to the NEC and great workshops.
The last one was with Shimelle and we made a really pretty Christmas banner using tags.
The chance to be on the DT, which changes every 3 months.

I’m sorry you feel that way jaqui. Fiskars give every DT a fair amount of tools to showcase each time in my opinion. The dt actually had tools I never had this term. If any of the DT are ever unhappy with what they receive then they need to email us. Tools are given according to what needs showcasing at that particular time.

A lovely way to use the scalloped circle, the scalloped circle has to be one of my favourite punches. x
