Fluttery Card

I’ve been playing around with my shapeboss, and made a card with butterflies and dragonflies that flutter! Here’s the steps if anyone else would like to create this.

I started by using my shapeboss to emboss some butterlfies, dragonflies, hearts and dots onto a piece of white card. I then added colours to them with chalks.

Next I used the shapboss as a stencil, drawing pencil lines around the outer edge of the wings and body, and embossing the inside pattern and all the body.

Then I used precision scissors to cut the shapes out.

I scored either side of the wings to make it easier to fold them, and then stuck the creatures to the chalked areas of the white card – sticking down the bodies only so the wings flap. I also stuck gems to the head/antenae for a bit of glam.

To finish the card off I machine stitched a border around the edge of a card blank…and I distressed the edge of the white card and stuck it to the centre of the card blank. All finished! A delicate, girly card! I think I’ll make some of the butterflies to stick to a scrapbook layout next.
