I have used the lovely Fiskars Shapecutting Butterfly 2 Template to help create this L/O today.  I haven’t just used it to cut a Butterfly, I’ve used it to draw directly onto the Patterned paper with pen !  It’s a lot less scary drawing direct using a Template rather than just drawing freehand.

Things you’ll need:6 x 4″ Photo, Patterned paper, Shape cutter, Butterfly 2 Template, Black thin Journalling pen, Glitter glue, Boundary water Border Punch, Adhesive, Scissors & Ink.

Instructions: First you need to cut your patterned paper pieces 26.5cm x 23cms , 25.5cms x 17cms & 28.5cms x 7.5cms, Punch the bottom edge of the largest piece with the Boundary Border Punch, The right facing short side of the next size down  and you don’t have to punch the longest strip.

Take the Biggest piece of paper and cut a Butterflies wings with the Shape cutter missing the body out so you can fold the wings up and the butterfly is still attached.. Note you can always trim with scissors if the body is a little too large & wings dont fold properly, it’s easier than trying to glue pieces on you’ve cut off!

Glue this piece onto the blank 12″ piece of cardstock. See above photo for placement

Next Glue the strip towards the right facing side (see photo)  Glue the next size down across the middle off centre, This is where I randomly Journalled Butterflies using the Template and pen, I then took the Template away after drawing 3 butterflies and went over again with the pen not being so neat.

Next Mat your photo cut a piece of paper 1cm longer & wider than your photo and glue to the photo.

I’ve hand cut a title out of the scraps Inked heavily and stuck this down in the bottom right hand corner.

I’ve used the punch out waste from the Border punch to embellish the bottom of my photo

Beautiful Jayne, I really like the way you cut out part of one butterfly and overlayed it.
The tiny bling is the perfect finishing touch.
