Masked Embossing
by Toucan ScrapsHello folks, today I’d like to show you one of my favourite techniques – Masked Embossing. Embossing texture by hand can take more time than using a cuttlebug or similar, but it’s much more versatile.
Fiskars Tools Used:
Fiskars Texture Plate (Leaves)
Fiskars Box one Template
Other Supplies
Project or Cardstock for putting the texture on
A Mask cut from scrap card of the shape required
Low-tack tape (If you don’t have any then stick some standard tape to your jeans and then after peeling it off it\’s low tack)
Place your project/cardstock face down on the texture plate.
Using low-tack tape fix the cardstock in place so it doesn’t move about during the embossing process.
Attach the cardstock mask in place on top of your project with low-tack tape.
Using your texture tool emboss around the masked area. It’s OK to go over the edges as the mask will prevent the area being embossed.
Remove the project from the texture place.
Turn the project over.
Place it on top of some scrap paper.
Reattach the mask to the top of the project where the un-embossed area is using the same low-tack tape.
Ink up the embossed area using your preferred inking tools.
Remove the mask.
Now you project is ready for the fishing touches.
Blessings to you all from Angela.

This is a great idea, but could you provide a tutorial on how to use the tool and the plates – I have these, but I’ve never managed to get a clear image from them.
