Monday Challenge: Autumn

I have a thing for big earrings, so ever since I saw the Fiskars Squeeze leaf punch in my DT package I’ve been trying to get the chance to make some earrings with it. The Autumn Monday Challenge this week gave me the opportunity!

First I punched 5 pairs of leaves from thick patterned paper using the punch, using red/brown/orange papers. Then I added leaf vein detail with a glue pen and gold glitter:

Then I gently pierced a hole at the top of the leaf stem. The papers used need to be the thicker patterned paper type otherwise it won’t be strong enough for the next stage:

I put jump rings through all these holes, and then added wire of various length between the leaves and the earring (five leaves per earring. There is also a jump ring between the earring and the wire):

They are big earrings but I like to be bold! And they’ll flutter nicely in a breeze, just like real autumn leaves!

Now I need to wear them lots before all the real autumn leaves disappear completely – and I move on to Christmas earrings! xx
