Butterflies card 1a

For this weeks challenge I have made a card using the Mini ShapeBoss and chalks – both things I haven’t used in a while.  I forgot how much fun they are to use!

Butterflies card - chalks

Using the Butterfly Template as a stencil, keep in place with some masking tape, and colour in the part of the design you want with chalk.  The chalks give a lovely soft hue to a design and you can mix and match to create different shades and colours.  Spray with cheap, value hairspray to set (the cheaper the better as they contain no conditions which could stain the card).

Trim design to fit your card blank.

Butterflies card - shapeboss

On the bottom of the card blank emboss part of the design, using the Mini ShapeBoss, and keep plain.

Butterflies card - punches

Punch out some flowers using the Squeeze Punch-L Flower, and Pop Up Punch-Daisy.

Punch out a border using the Border Punch-Effervescence.   Punch out some little butterflies using the Pop-Up Punch-Butterfly.  Punch out x2 in different papers and then layer one on top of the other.  Attach together using a little Glossy Accents just down the centre so the top wings can flap up.

Butterflies card 2

Assemble the card – layer the design onto pink paper, which I cut out using the Decorative Scissors-Deckle, and then tuck the border behind that.  I then used my sewing machine to put all the pieces together.  Add pearls and crystals to create an embellishment cluster.  The sentiment is a rub-on.

Hope you enjoy the challenge – look forward to seeing what you do!

Very soft and pretty, it’s always fun to rediscover techniques you haven’t used in a while.

I like the touches of bling you’ve added. They are the perfect finishing touch.

Lovely effect with the chalks. Like you, I love using them, but they stay in the drawer for far too long in between x
