Monday Challenge – Into Space – create any project using this theme….
Morning fiskarettes x
The challenge today was very scary for me as I never had one thing that was space themed in my stash (and I have a lot of stash lol). So most of my project is made using just cardstock !!! I really enjoyed the challenge, I love my Layout and glad it challenged me at the start.
Items needed: Yellow, red, black, blue, orange & green cardstock. yellow buttons, Adhesive, alpha stickers, XL circle Squeeze punch, medium squeeze punch, scissors, Boundary water border punch, star punch (these would be ideal) I did use a different star as I didn’t have this one to hand ! Circle Template, Ink, foam pads, Acetate, white pen.
Instructions: First you need to cut your shapes for the rocket. I drew freehand a rocket shape and it’s boosters and wings. Punch out a XL circle for the Big window and a smaller circle using the Circle Squeeze punches. Ink all the pieces and assemble. The fire I just cut 2 triangles and punched two of the edges using the Boundary water border punch. Ink these too, Trim and glue behind the rocket boosters.
Using the Circle Template I drew round one circle onto blue card for the earth & using a large Circle template I drew around a quarter for the moon on yellow card. The moon I added craters to the outside so had to cut it out using scissors. Ink the moon edges. Glue the moon to the bottom left facing corner of black 12″ card. The earth should be inked too and glued to the top right side of the black cardstock. Cut a few green pieces and stick them onto the Earth circle to represent land.
Glue the buttons all over the moon.
Glue the rocket onto the moon adding foam pads at the top as the bottom is raised on the buttons. you might have to build them up onto each other acording to the thickness of your buttons and foam pads.
.
Cut images out of photos glue a head onto one of the windows in the rocket and perhaps another one standing on the moon. My daughter drew a picture in the sand so I cut this out of the photo and glued this to the moon pretending it was an Alien.
Punch out little Helmets out of acetate using the Med Circle Squeeze punch, I snipped a tiny piece off to make a ‘fish bowl’ shape. Place onto heads and glue with clear glue. Trace around helmets with a white pen to make the acetate stand out a little more.
Punch out tiny stars and glue randomly onto the space.
Add a title with stickers & the same for the Journalling if wanted.
Then it is finished xxx
