Hiya Fiskarettes.

We are at Birmingham NEC today for a meeting with Fiskars to discuss what we can do for Fiskarettes to make it more appealing and inspiring for you all. we’ll be back home to answer any comments etc late afternoon if all goes well with traffic. I have had a little time to make a card for the Monday Challenge just before my few days away. I haven’t really got any papers or embellishments that were ‘Oriental’ but did find some Cherry blossom stamps. Hope you think this is ‘Oriental’ enough.

Instructions: Cut a red piece of patterned paper 12″ x 3″ & punch the top longest edge with a border punch. I used ‘HEARTS‘ Fiskars border punch. Concentina the strip and tape the edges together forming a fan shape.

The card itself I’ve just simply stamped all over the card base with a oriental cherry blossom stamp & stazon plus added pearly dots to the blossom. As this was quite a large stamp the Fiskars stamp press was very useful at this point.

Ink the edges with red ink. Glue the fan onto the card front.

I’ve punched out a Flower using a large Flower punch & coloured it in black. Added a little corner shaped piece of patterned paper to the bottom of the fan. A few Vintage buttons from a box my mum gave me.

Two corners are cut to decorate the corners of the card. Note the paper had cream spots but I coloured these with pens at the start to make the whole thing tie in and look a little more oriental instead of Micky mouse !!!

I would normally shy away from ‘oriental’ things but I love your take on this, and I really like the card too, and the fan!
