Tag – Hi!
by Clare
I had great fun making this tag and using Distress Inks and a clear embossing resist technique. Using the Distress Inks to watercolour gives a great effect and you can create many different shades from the one pad.
Using the clear embossing powder on a stamped image isn’t a new technique at all, but its one of those I do forget to use and then when I do I wonder why I don’t use it more often!
I used the fabulous ShapeCutter to create the little oval on which to add the letters.
Fiskars Products Used:
Other products Used:
- Manilla Tag
- Distress Inks, embossing ink
- Clear Embossing Powder
- Stamp
- Mini Mister
- Paintbrush
- Gems, adhesive letters
- Twine, Ribbon

Instructions:
- Stamp image directly onto tag, using ink suitable for heat embossing. Sprinkle on the clear embossing powder and heat.
- Take your chosen Distress Ink pad and apply a little to a non-stick craft sheet. Spritz with water and apply the watered down colour to your tag.
- Applying the same colour in different layers will deepen the colour.
- Where the embossed image is the colour will resist.

- Cut out the smallest oval from the Template using the ShapeCutter, and then add adhesive letters, or stamp a sentiment.
- Add twine around the bottom of the tag, and then adhere the oval with 3d pads.
- Add ribbon through the top hole, add gems to the centre of the flowers.
