Morning Peeps,
I cannot believe it… I am on my penultimate tutorial for the Fiskarettes DT already! Anyway, I have had loads and loads of fun playing with the Fiskars products and I have to say, one of my favest things is the Shape Cutter. Simply, it is easier to use than a craft knife and gives you more control over what you are cutting out. So, I got my Shape Cutter out along with one of the Templates…I used it as a Freehand cutter for the birdy I cut out… and then cut out some little circles with the Circle Template… and here is how I made my card :O)

STEP 1
Start off with some nice smooth cardstock, I have used plain white and it is about 80gsm, so easy to cut through. Using the Fiskars Cutting Mat under the card, I used the Shape Cutter Plus on freehand (this is the one where you pop the little orange spacer on the base) and cut out a birdy shape, his wing and a couple of long strips which made his legs. I then took the freehand spacer off and used my Fiskars Flowers Stencil and cut a couple of circles… these made his.. erm… wheels! *bear with me LOL*

STEP 2
Next, I used the Fiskars Decorative Stamp Set with the Fiskars Acrylic Blocks (you gotta have these, they have grids on them… no more wonky stamping!) I used a florally stamp to make a pattern on the undercarriage of my birdy and then used a swirly stamp to make a pattern on his wing. The legs were then stamped with a curvy stamp… and finally, I took my card base and used a border stamp and a corner stamp and made a … border with corners :O))

STEP 3
Using blue and orange inks, I coloured the birdy, his wings and his legs in… and then used a precision pen to draw spokes onto the circles I had cut.. turning them into wheels. I used some Alpha stamps to make a greeting.. which is where the wheely bit comes in… Do you ever have an idea that floats about for a while??? I have been thinking this “wheely happy day” greeting for yonks, finally, I have been able to use it :O))

Finally, stick all the components together and then pop him onto the card base… and add the greeting on 3D foam.

I hope you like this card… have you got a Shape Cutter??? And.. if you have… what is the best thing you have cut freehand with it? I think my birdies have been my faves so far… aw, I can’t believe it that I only have one more tutorial to show you now… am deffo going to try and make it a special one. Thanks for looking… and.. have a wheely good day!!

A cute little project. I especially like the way you have stamped your greeting on Foam pads, Fiskars makes a great little Alphabet stamp set too !
