Tinkypen

Last Christmas I had the crazy idea to knit a string of little stocking to make an advent calendar for my son, Maxwell.

However I completely failed in my efforts to knit them for Christmas 2010. However earlier this year I completed my string of knitted socks. This made me very happy.

All that was left was to number them.

The supplies I used were

*Fiskars Star Squeeze Punch
*Fiskars Snowflake Lever Punch
*A set of white tags (I picked up a pack of 100 in Wh Smiths)
*Number stamps
*Ink pad

To create my quick and simple number tags, I punched the star and snowflakes out of the tags.

Stamped my numbers on.

Attached to my socks (I used a teeny crochet hook to pull the string through)

My plan is now to fill these with chocolates, activity cards and some small toys (I’m thinking little matchbox cars for my little man!)

You could recreate this idea too by using normal childrens socks, pegging them to a ribbon string and numbering them.

Or use the tags on envelopes placed on your tree for daily activities.

Happy holidays!

Leanne

That’s soooo lovely Leanne, and he will treasure this as he gets older and you bring it out again. Such patience and the tags are great too.
