Wirebender flowers
by Kazzer
Hi everyone, I’m looking for some help please. I absolutely love the Fiskars wire benders but I’m having great difficult in keeping them in place. I am using the desire memory wire to wind the shapes but they keep coming undone and I’m using alot of glue trying to keep them in place. Any advice would be appreciated. Karen

What's Hot

I use stitching quite often to keep them in place on a card, but it is a bit of a fiddle. You need to wind them and lift them off (they do spring apart) then reassemble them on a piece of paper over a mousemat. Hold it together with one hand and poke holes at the places where the wires intersect (you can kind of slide the needle or poking tool under the paper to get to the exact spot). Then lift the paper off, trim it leaving a narrow margin (so you can see the approx shape), place it where you want the item to be, re-poke the holes, place the wire item on the card, and stitch down with matching thread! You can use the poking template again and again so you only need to make one once, but it is a bit time-consuming. If anyone has a better answer I’d love to hear it too!
Great advice Alison, I haven’t tried the Wire winder system yet but hope to be doing a little tutorial on it soon, so hopefully then I will have some tips to share too. Sorry I can’t offer any advice at the moment but watch this space
Hi Girls
To be perfectly honest I don’t use it with the memory wire – it is far easier with just normal wire..I am a “let’s make life easy” kinda girl and can’t be bothered with faffing around….now that’s a very technical crafty term.
Sorry can’t help either…but do understand the faffing around term.

Hi girls, thanks all for your words of advice, I think I will take you up Kath on your “make life easy” technique and use a thicker wire. When you have your tips up and running Chriss I will come back again. Thanks again everyone xoxo Karen
