decorative edges

Create torn edges on your papers with the Fiskars Tear Edgers to use on your Scrapbook pages and cards.    You can also use them as guides for drawing against too.  All of the Fiskars shape templates have decorative edges also, which can be used in a similar way,  providing you with a multitude of designs to create stunning projects. Papers used with the edges of the Fiskars  shape templates have the advantage of being able to be cut with the Fiskars Shapecutter Plus.

tear edger

Using the Fiskars Tear Edgers is quite simple,  place your Tear Edger on top of your chosen paper on a flat surface.  Hold the tool with one hand to keep it steady against the paper and tear the paper with the other hand tearing towards you.  The further you hold the paper from the Tear edger,  the more torn effect the edge of the paper will have.  If you wish to have a more precise edge hold the paper as near to the edge of the tool as you comfortably can and tear very slowly towards you or use the edge as a template and draw a line with a pencil before cutting out with Fiskars Scissors or a Fiskars craft knife.

You can also dampen your paper with a cotton swab along the tear line before tearing to create a softer design.  Handmade papers will produce a particularly pretty feathered effect when torn in this way.

Happy Creating
